It’s Trivia Day!

Did you know that today is set aside as Trivia Day? A day to share bits of knowledge and dazzle your friends, or maybe just irritate them.

Here are some tidbits that can be shared in honor of Trivia Day:

IMG_5782.JPGDid you know Baskin Robbins once made ketchup ice cream? No other vegetable has been given such an honor (of course, many people would argue a tomato is a fruit).

Did you know Abraham Lincoln is the only U.S. President ever granted a patent? He invented a hydraulic device for lifting ships over shoals.

Did you know the U.S. city with the highest number of lightning strikes per capita is Clearwater, Florida?

Did you know that an ounce of gold can be stretched into a strand of wire 50 miles long?

IMG_5784.JPGDid you know that Uranus is the only planet that rotates on its side?

Did you know that only 127 runners ran the NY Marathon in 1970 and more than 50,000 runners finished the race in 2013?

IMG_5785.JPGDid you know that cats average 16 hours of sleep a day? That’s more than any other mammal.

IMG_5786.JPGCan you name the only U.S. state that is a one syllable word? You’ll have to figure this one out on your own!

It’s time to look for a restaurant with a trivia night so I can apply some of this useless knowledge. In the meantime, feel free to leave a comment with your favorite trivia tidbit!
