Regardless of whether or not I voted for the winning candidates or issues on this year’s ballot, I’m so glad the 2014 “mean season” has come to an end.
No more “Too shady for the sunshine state” or “Flippin’ unbelievable” on the airwaves. I’m looking forward to ads for McDonald’s, Burger King, and Taco Bell.
I get my mailbox back. I’m even anxious for a mailbox full of holiday catalogs.
And what a relief to pick up the phone to a familiar human voice of a friend, relative, or even a solicitor from the University of Miami asking for a financial contribution instead of getting robocalls from Mike Huckabee, Newt Gingrich, or Andy Ford.
Hurry up and remove those signs. The mean season is officially closed!
