What’s a Mother To Do? Six Months and Counting

A wedding on Honeymoon Island? Apparently this is a popular location for weddings. No, Emily and Brian didn’t decide to scrap their plans for a November wedding, but while we picnicked on the quiet beach, a cart with white chairs, tiki torches, and a wedding arch stopped in front of us and in less than thirty minutes the set up was complete. We didn’t hang out to observe the ceremony nor did we photo bomb their event. Instead we went for a walk. We have plenty of wedding fun ahead without joining in a stranger’s event.

Two weeks ago we met with Tami, the woman who is working with Emily to design and make her wedding dress. What a relief! The meeting couldn’t have gone better. Tami and Emily speak the same language and in less than two hours Tami sketched designs, presented ideas about fabric and embellishments, and discussed timelines and budget. I worried this would be stressful, but not so!

Emily’s ordered shoes and in fact, they’ve arrived and she’s bringing them to Ocala this weekend so she won’t be tempted to wear them before the wedding.

Decisions on attire for Brian and the groomsmen have been made.

We’re making progress on a guest list and finalizing the stationary design.

Caterers have been contacted and menu items should be finalized by this time next month.

Next on the list: schedule the “getting to know you” photo shoot and start on decor items. It’s going to be a busy summer!
