Shoebox Fun

Digging through old family photos just got a lot more fun. The photographs previously stored in shoe boxes in the cedar chest are now stored in a digital format compatible with my family tree in Ancestry.com. I downloaded Shoebox, a free app, which lets me use my iPhone as a scanner.

In a matter of minutes I used the camera on my phone to take a picture of photographs. The new image can be edited and tagged with information about the photograph including the date and location as well as the individuals in the photo. Then the image can be linked to the family tree that I created on Ancestry.com. What an improvement! Now I see not only the names of family members but their smiling faces as well.

There’s even an option to share the newly scanned photos on Facebook. Who knew you can have so much fun taking the photos in a shoe box scanning them with Shoebox!
